    First of all the morning started off with horrible news. My wife's father passed away at 4am. Unsure of what to do, my wife told me to do the meet and then we will deal with it all. A complete shock, heart attack.

    In the squat I went theee for three with no red lights. 490, 525 and 550 lbs. the 525 was harder then the 550 because I wasn't focused and set. I probably left about another 10 lbs out there but still a PR. For bench I opened with 390 lbs and it flew easy. Second attempt was 425 lbs and I got it three white lights but it stalled a bit about 3/4 of the way up. Went to 435 lbs on third attempt but got stuck above half way up. Need to work more chains and board presses in training. 425 lbs was another PR. Deadlift opened with 500 and was easy. Jumped to 550 lbs and didn't feel hard another three white lights. Went to 575 lbs on third and got it three white lights. This is good because I have been struggling with my DL. So overall went 8/9 and all three were recent years PRs at my new lower body weight. All three are new Canadian records for masters 40-44 year olds. Pretty happy with the outcome.

    Back at it after three days off from competition

    Day 1
    Squat 45x8, 135x5, 225x5, 315x4, 365x3, 405x1, 455x1, 365x5x3sets
    Bench 45x20, 135x10, 185x5, 225x5, 275x4, 315x3, pause 335x1, pause 365x1, 315x5x3sets
    Face pull 50x15, 75x15, 85x15, 95x15
    Tricep cable pushdown 50x15, 75x15, 85x15
    Single arm DB overhead extension 25x15, 30x15, 35x12
    Green band abs 45x3sets
    30 minutes elliptical level 6 (490 calories)

    Overall and easy day and felt good to get lifting those weights again. Can't wait to build some more strength and improve.

    Deadlift 135x5, 225x3, 315x3, 405x5, 455x1, 485x1, 425x5x3sets all very easy
    2 Board bench press 45x20, 135x10, 185x5, 225x5, 275x4, 315x3, 345x1, 375x1, 405x1, 345x5x3sets very easy since this is a big weakness of mine
    Chest supported row 180x10, 205x10 230x10
    Face pulls 75x12, 95x12x2sets
    Hammer curls 40x12, 45x12, 50x12
    Shoulder horn rotator cuff 10x20, 25x10x2sets
    Abs green band 45x3sets
    30 minutes elliptical level 6 (480 calories)
