Anytime Fitness Shreveport Owner Hooked Up Gym Members with Steroids
August 14th, 2019

Louisiana business man conspired with a local steroid UGL to sell anabolic steroids to members of an unspecified fitness facility.

Michael Mosura, a Louisiana businessman who was a franchisee of multiple Anytime Fitness facilities, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute anabolic steroids in U.S. District Court on August 8, 2019.

Mosura admitted purchasing large quantities of anabolic steroids from a local underground laboratory (UGL) operated by Brant Landry and his wife Julie Landry.

Mosura acknowledged that he used some of the steroids himself. He also admitted that he sold steroids to third parties over a two year period.

Mosura was originally thought to have had a more passive role in the steroid distribution scheme. Police suspected Mosura supported Landry’s sale of steroids to members of Anytime Fitness. But Mosura was apparently much more actively involved in the scheme.

“Further investigation revealed that Brant Landry distributed steroids to Mosura, who in turn consumed and distributed the steroids to third parties,” according to the official press release by United States Attorney David Joseph. “Mosura admitted to receiving and distributing the steroids.”

Mike Mosura was indicted as a co-conspirator alongside Brant Landry and Julie Landry.

The steroid conspiracy unraveled after a Bossier Parish Sheriff’s deputy noticed Brant Landry driving erratically on May 22, 2018. The deputy stopped Landry and found several drugs during a search of his vehicle. The drugs included 11 vials of injectable anabolic steroids and a plastic baggie containing Xanax powder.

Police opened an investigation and learned that Landry operated a steroid UGL and sold steroids to members of the now-defunct Bars and Scars Warehouse Gym in Bossier City. The Bars and Scars Gym was owned by Brant and Julie Landry..

The investigation revealed that Mosura was one of Landry’s top clients.

Mosura was the first defendant to accept a plea agreement. The details of the plea agreement were not disclosed.

Brant Landry and Julie Landry have pleaded not guilty. They are preparing to mount a defense against the charges in a trial scheduled for September 9, 2019.

Mosura will not be sentenced until the conclusion of the trial of Brant and Julie Landry. Mosura is scheduled to be sentenced before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Foote on December 5, 2019.

Mosura was a Caddo Parish School Board member as well. He resigned following the announcement of his guilty plea in the steroid case.

He should have stayed out of the spot light and collected royalties instead.

Thanks @~Dr Juice~ I like reading these and watching them play out. Heads up, lots of these interrogations are released to press, as well as trial recordings etc. You may need to be American?! To get them. I was considering doing an underside of bodybuilding channel till you tube pussied out so hard. World wide it seems steroid cases are being financially penalized in the end as a trend. I'm just a lowly gym rat though so what do I care I guess. I think I follow this stuff to make sure I get a glimpse of when these drugs will become unobtainable.

-- Thanks Mooo! I'm pleased you like these posts. Although a numerous amount of these stories are American or from other parts of the world, they give an interesting look into arrests, convictions, doping, scandals, etc. We as Monsters can glean bits of useful information from them and at the same time have fun dissecting them, debating them, or discussing talking points within.

When I was locked up in the USA and worked in the legal library there was a federal computer program that allowed me access to every single federal court case, past and present. The correction facilities were obligated to pay a yearly fee for this program so inmates "technically" had access to the latest rulings. Protocols in place made this difficult for the inmates, but being this was my facility job I had full unsupervised access. I can't tell you how interesting this program was to search and investigate. It was thrilling to look up old cases such as Al Capone, The Unabomber, or John Gotti to read how their court trials unfolded. The name of the program eludes me at this moment but I've even thought of dabbling with it again.

That would be good! Been reading Kazynskis book, would be I retesting to see the evidence of the actual carnage his thoughts caused. Man I would have spent every minute on that thing. I was allowed.
