I am pretty confident my dog's injury and listening to him whimper, even though I spent $400 on pain meds yesterday for him, is causing a lot of stress as I didn't sleep well and second day in a row with a higher BP reading.

127/73 HR 62 - little better which I suspect is because my dog is not in as much pain as he is part of the family and its tough watching your family in pain.

Enjoy the day @Upjohn - I know we aren't supposed to take our BP while drinking coffee but it is the first thing I think of when I wake up so I always take it on my second or third mug.
I'm 122/70 HR 58.

130/70 HR 65 - My dog hurt himself again and listening to him cry while I wait for the pain meds to kick in causes a lot of stress and my first reading was over 140 for systolic. He is now sleeping.

known causes and those damn darts lol. I use to smoke and quit, still wish I could smoke but if I had one I would ant more. my father had to go on BP meds and the doctor blamed it on 50 years of smoking which is logical. My grandfather smoked 50 years as well and his BP was perfect but he lived in a warm climate and swam every day.

sweet - that is in the ideal range. Lots of cardio? Does it go up much if you run a blast for a few months?
thanks,
GR
not doing a whole lot in the way of cardio right now. Walking outside with Mrs.Chev 4-5 times a week for 35-55 minutes per outing. BP goes up slightly depending on what I decide to run on a mini-blast...try to limit it to 8-10 weeks once or twice a year.

hi @Upjohn - do you mind me asking which BP med you are on. Sorry if I am confusing you with someone else but you ended getting the dosage down a fair amount too correct? Do you take anything other than the med like ubiquinol, etc.?
thanks

Its called Viacoram .

Im dumbing down for ease but Theres 3 dosage ‘levels’ for it low-med-high dose. If on high dose it doesnt bring u into range than its off to some other type/brand of bp med not sure which tho.

The med dose brought me down to 120/80 ish at the beginning from walkin around 140-150ish/90-100ish.

Quit Tobacco habit (smoked for about 10yrs was crazy to start) Started taking coq10 600mg day N Carlsons oil - couple shot-glasses of that in the mornin.

BP was gettin too low so dropped down to the ‘low’ dose of Viscoram.

Lots more natural supps + more cardio ill incorporate + time mabey ill get right off the BP med. I dropped to nothing when my BP was getting to low but than next days it shot right up high soo if i need that low dose rest of life Im fine with that too.

thanks for the info. Sounds like you have taken a lot of steps to get everything under control and taking a small dose everyday isn't a big deal if you have to. Its good you have thoughts of getting off it completely and it sounds like you are on your way to getting there.
