With this whole virus and gyms not opening up anytime soon any of you fellow monsters have experiences with these dumbells before i drop 900$. There so many mixed reviews its hard to decide if its worth it or not.

no, but I have adjustable dumbells and I love them. Power rack I think they are called. The only issue is they only go so heavy - 50 or 70 lbs. I assume if $900 the ones your looking at go much higher.

I have the 2.5-52.5.
I love them.
Wish I had gotten the heavier set.
But I found them used and for a great deal- so...

I agree - I picked the set that went to 50 and they had a set to 70 or 75, wish I bought those instead as so many exercises 50 lbs isn't enough unless you do a lot of reps.

i have a pair of the ones that go to 52.5 and im not a huge fan simply because they are too long. pressing and curling is pretty uncomfortable some times.

are you very short?
I don't mean that as a derogatory comment/question.
Just curious. I guess just wondering about your arm reach...
I'm 5'10" and find the 52.5lbs set I have just right...but was wondering if the heavier set would be too long.

I have the 10-90s. I’ve had them almost 10 years now and they’re still in good condition... I take good care of them though... and I train in a gym 99.9% of the time. Lol
The only thing I really don’t like is the hand grips. They’re fucking rough on the hands. If you don’t mind wearing gloves, problem solved... plus I think they modified the design since and they’re more comfortable now. They are a little awkward because they’re so long, but that adds to challenging your muscles to lift them. You’ll get use to the balance though.
All in all, great dumbbells in my opinion. Fucking happy to have them now! If you have the extra coin, the rack is a good buy. It’ll help you to handle them easier thus giving them a longer life... and I’m 5'10

Don't do it, I have some & actually want to sell them. I bought a set of the 552s and a set of the 1090s and they're okay but not very durable. I also bought a set of Powerblocks and love them compared to the Bowflex ones. I have since sold the 552s & have the 1090s for sale as well. The powerblocks are great & I was also able to find the upgrade to 90lbs in a second hand store, they also carry a barbell & a curl bar for them as well......Powerblocks are so superior.

Where are you located? If you’re in/around Calgary I’d probably buy them off you.

I have had a set of the 90lb Bowflex for 5 years and like them. They are a bit on the long / bulky side, but great for what you need and at home. They sometimes get a bit sticky changing weights, but just push down in the rack with one hand while you turn the dial and its fine.
Also obviously dont drop them as that most likely would screw them up, the adjusting - locking mechanism.

Spin lock dumb bells are a very cheap option. You can also get an ez curl bar and tricep bar and use the 1 inch weights on those as well. Much cheaper option. I priced it out at my local fitness store at under 300 bucks, and an able to go from 5-105 pounds in increments of 5 pounds at that. No adjustable dumb bells can do that for that cheap.

Wow, 900 bucks for convenience. Way out on my league. If you have the room, weight is generally 1$ per pound , I went old school and bought used plates, bought 1 inch round steel stock and cut my own handles and got a dbell rack off amazon. But if room is scarce and you can swing it I'd say go for it.
