Whether you want to touch up your boxing skills or start learning now is a great time if your interested since all the gyms are closed and its also an easy source of cardio you can do at home.

Ive loved the channel "Precision Striking" on youtube by JT Van V for a long time. He has great breakdowns whether you want to work on punches/combos, footwork, head movement, or other drills that are just great cardio wise. Anyone else have any preferred channels on youtube or boxing coaches with great content? Anyone else running drills at home for anything else? Kickboxing? Jits? etc

What else are you guys doing to get your cardio in while everythings close? Other than jogging outside or laying the blocks to the old ladies lol.

Hope you all are still training hard and making the best of what you got at home

I was actually talking with the wife at supper time that I should hang the heavy bag up again downstairs and use it for some cardio since we are going to slowly convert the unfinished part of the basement into a home gym. This is the extra push I needed - thank you

Thats awesome man! Hang it up and start getting those drills in! I love the cardio I get from boxing more than anything else, Its what Ive been using as my cardio for a very long time. Gyms are closed but we can still get a good sweat on. Lots we can do from home. Having a heavy bag definitely helps!!

Those BOBs are great as well, especially in regards to working on precision. My wife does not like the heavy bag either from the sounds it rumbles through the house so I said the only other option is her holding pads for me. She refused Lol. Long story short the heavy bag hangs in the garage now 😂 Happy wife happy life Lol

The Bob is great for exactly what you say - knock out punches to the chin or behind the ear, eye gouges precision, and practicing knees. You can punch the head and the body pretty hard without it moving but mine is on a wood floor so it slides. You can't kick it hard, even with 300 lbs of weight at the base or it just falls over so I get my wife to hold it. Unfortunately, I now have a bad right knee so not many kicks lately. I have the pads to hold for kicks but I'm 225 and she is 115 and it hurts her. I'm too old to practice what I use to do so I concentrate on foot work, front kicks and knees for distance and precision punches. I worked security and trained with some advanced guys so I know where to hit and I'm not bragging - everyone here could wipe the floor with me so lets get that off the table. I'm not decadick - that MMA guys who said he could beat up everyone lol. I do it for fun everyday and if I ever need to use it in real life I will know how to. It has its place but not for power. Wife isn't happy with me - I bought non slip mats and put it on them and in front of a wall and was practising hard front kicks until I realized the base was making a hole in the drywall. She wasn't happy lol. Again - no bragging here, everyone could kick my ass but I will say I could take @Bigtuna84 LMAO in my dreams. Its good fun but they are expensive buggers. Amen brother - happy wife happy life.

Good post. I'm gonna check out that channel. Thanks dude

I've jumped rope boxing style for years. 3 minute rounds. 1 minute rest. I do my medicine ball ab work, pilates lower back right after.
I do a bit of shadow boxing and want to sharp up my hand speed. Just grabbed a headband reflex ball I'm gonna mess with

I also religiously run stairs. I have an amazing stair hill course set where I live on Lake Ontario that always kicks the shit out of you.. When the lake warms up it's into the drink for some freestyle. I'm a cardio hound. I have to limit myself so I don't over train. In lake season I used to do a mile of balls out freestyle daily if I could

Jumping rope is unreal for cardio eh! I always jump rope before and after weightlifting/training or sparring. Get the heart pumpen even more Lol. Those headband reflex balls are great as well. It will def increase your hand speed and coordination with practice. Keep me posted with what you think of it!

Sounds like you are in phenomenal cardio shape. You make me want to start doing more haha. I have to admit stairs leave me feeling destroyed every...single...time Lol. There is a good set of stairs close to my place so maybe Ill have to slowly start tackling them a couple of times a week! Good on you for doing it that consistently man. Have you always been a cardio hound or did it just happen over time after forcing yourself to do it?

Let me know what you think of JT Van V man! Im sure you'll love his content as well.
