6 weeks no training. Unless you want it to rupture again. Just not worth it.

Now if it was me, I’d be lifting at work and everything except gym after 2 weeks,,lol.
After my colon resection, I was working after 7 days, just kept my lifting to 30 lbs.

I was out of the gym for two weeks after an umbilical hernia, but avoided heavier, stressful movements for a month.. not saying this is a smart thing to do tho.

Currently facing the possibility of four more months out of the gym after a recent hiatal hernia repair.. this is one is killing me.

Thanks boys. I saw a doctor about it today briefly as I was in for an unrelated eye injury (fml)
He’s Russian, that should be refrenced. He said “what’s that from excercise ? “
“You should postpone the surgery because you’re young and it’s just going to happen again”

And he walked out ..

mine was similar maybe a bit larger, got while doing a heavy leg press.
I had my surgery 12 years ago and it has never come back. I was told if it did come back they would simply install mesh.
I bumped mine before the surgery and it like doubled in size in minutes and it was the worst pain I can recall ever having. I had to go to emergency and have it pushed back in and then come back for the repair surgery later.
Be careful about bumping into stuff no kidding mine is around the same height as fucking doorknobs lol.
Same as @Sorbate I didnt train for about 5 weeks then really light for another 4 weeks I think. Planned apprentice school around the surgery time since I didnt really have to work there.

Lol, I didn’t train, but I lifted a 160 lb hip of beef 7 days after surgery with the first one. When the other side was repaired, I was lifting 70-80 lb tubs of meat at work after a week also.

Damn I was lifting 30-50 lb tubs a week out from my colon resection surgery. They made a 6” incision in my lower left abs, went thru my belly button and 2 other small incisions. Remember I’m almost 50 now and was on,y running hrt of 100 mg a week, no gh or anything. I am a machine, do not do what I do, lol.

Go to a medi Center. That is bullshit. You want it repaired when you are young and it heals better. That guy is an idiot.
And if done right it won’t come back. Seriously his licence should be pulled. I don’t know why I’m angry, but what he said was the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a while.

I went to a medi Center the first time and they referred me to a specialist.
