Hi & thank you guys for the info! I’ve been creeping in the back ground while doing my homework on aas’s & has been a great resource so glad to finally join. & guys I need your thoughts.
Quick background, 40 & never lifted until last 2 years & got hooked right away. Great progress over first 16-18 months then have hit wall for at least 4 months w/ no way of pushing overload, like fuckin Groundhog Day week to week. I should mention that over last year have quit drinking & smoking, learned & am maintaining good diet w/ good macros & getting decent sleep.
My opening questions are:
Do you think I should get a coach/trainer before starting cycle to see how much more potential natural strength I can get?
&
If I cycle on 500 test c/12 weeks, & have not seen negative sides by week 5-6 would I be “safe”(relative term) to add a winny or mast at end, leaning toward mast?
Thank you guys for your thoughts! I’m positive your answers will probably lead to more questions but hope is good place to start.

What are you goals ? Bulk up or lean out ? Height weight BF% ?
At the 40YO mark your natural T might already be declining enough that a 500/week cycle will make you feel 18 again, however depending on your goals, a GOOD coach would want you clean to get you into good and proper habits first before venturing into AAS land

Hey man, goals are 190’s @ 12-15% currently at 185-25% @ 5’ 8”. I’m running all free weights & plate loaded pulldown/lo row. I went & had blood work done & scored a 16 which a gp said was in range. I’ve been thinking going to gp May have been wrong choice & going to an anti aging clinic. I’m a bit reluctant on the trainer as I’m would really hate to waste time/money on minimal results. What do you think?

Welcome to CJM,

i can say from personal experience having a trainer set new personal bests for me in every category, they will push you to your limits ( most time safely )

as for a 12 week cycle test c and adding winny in at weeks 5 or 6 I would think about running test e at 350-500 ew for 15-20 weeks and running 20-40 mg var at the back end of your cycle, or front load the var for pretty immediate results while waiting for the test to kick in. 😎

edit : seeing as how your bf is a bit high right now I would diet fuckin hard and add an hour of cardio per day until you can get you bf down to 15ish %

I was at about the same as you when I was looking into cycling, cardio and clean eating almost melted the fat off me to where I was closer to 15 before jumping on gear.

Are you sure your 25% body fat now?
Your first cycle, nothing else is needed other than test. 300-500 mg per week.

A good personal trainer can be expensive but can help you find ways to get through plateaus. @PacMan is the resident trainer here. Gyms often have them too.
Once you start down the TRT road it is hard to get off and can take a long time to find the right dose.

Do you have any symptoms of low T?

Good thoughts for sure, I’m as sure as bf calculater. & yes I do but not severe but definitely noticeable. So for first cycle just stick to test to as safe as possible first go. Thanks appreciate it

Personal preference, to my knowledge it is one of the safer orals out there and I have always had great results from it. I have never tried winny but to my understanding it is a bit harsher on the hair line and I am already predisposed to balding so var it is.

@Goldenrod is correct while saying for a first cycle all you need is test while this is true I have never ran test alone and have always included var for the hardening effects and the cutting aspects I have never bulked as I feel I look best between 205-210 Lbs

I’m in no way saying s mild oral like var is a big deal for s month but my first cycles were all test. I purposely ate more, did more compound movements, and watched my weight and strength go up.
Best of luck bud

Nice man, I’m in the same mind set. I picked up an air bike & have been doing 30min fasted in morning 5 days a week & has made a huge difference.

1st -> definitely go as far naturally as you can. Figure out y you have stalled, keep in mind it does slow down , your newbie gains will only last for so long.
2-> if you do choose to run gear, 1st cycle should be test only. Get a good reference to how your body responds to 1 compound b4 you pile them on. And I would even go at 250/week. You're older, have never touched it and you will more than likely respond real good. 1 thing with peds more is not necessarily better.
