I registered after seeing this thread and thought I would share my experience with Ontario Men's Health.

I'm 35 and have been interested in getting a prescription for HRT/TRT for a couple of years now. This doctor seemed more interested in my libido and prescribing me Cialis rather than my concerns for low T. We did blood tests, but he said that i'm in the 'normal' range of not too low, not too high (whatever that means). He also gave me the impression that it's not something he prescribes to his patients often.

So in my opinion, this place was a waste of $$$ if you're looking for a doctor who writes scripts for test
Thanks. I was about to schedule an appointment with this doctor today. May pass on it.....

Thanks for that. What were your testosterone levels exactly?

Great thread.

I called Canadian Men's Clinic, 416-636-7377, located at 1 Eglington St, Toronto.

The receptionist said it's a $355 initial cost for the visit, and the doctor will take bloodwork etc from you then. You come back about a week later to discuss the results. She said there isn't a waiting line and they're booking appointments as soon as next week.

Has anyone heard of this place or had any experience with it?

I'm 41 and am interested in TRT.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a copy (maybe I'll call them and try to obtain it for future reference). I thought he said a number like, 10 or 12 (?). Plus I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to understanding testosterone levels for men my age. However, all he really said was that my levels were 'normal' for my age and was more interested in prescribing me Cialis. The clinic itself is more geared toward men experiencing issues with ED despite the website mentioning treating men for andropause. It was all kind of an awkward experience. After the doc finishes examining you, you're taken into another room where a woman shows up with a diagram of male genitalia and provides a mini lecture regarding why men suffer from ED, lol. You end up leaving with a fairly thick folder with several brochures.

Based on my research, the doctor in Burlington is the guy who tries to get men at optimal test levels. My family doc and the doctor from Ontario Men's Clinic wanted nothing to do with prescribing testosterone.

Dude, if you do, let me know how it goes. I'd be interesting in making the ride into Ottawa if it was worth it. (meaning - I want 200 injectable T per week, no more gel or patch nonsense)
For sure man... we'll see what's up...

I actually have an appt Monday. Will let you go how it goes. They said you don't have to pay for any blood work and I know from the past it costs $50ish for free test test. Lol. I'm curious if anyone has been here also.

Hey went there today. Pretty straight forward place. Getting T levels checked. Already talked about treatment options. Also did some test on the D where they actually injected a vasodilator into the shaft. No joke. It was pretty crazy. Well let you know about appt 2

So, say you go to one of these clinics, do the actually write a prescription for you to take to home and self administer or do they make you come back in every week or 2 weeks for your shots?

I highly recommend Dr Patterson at Peak Men's Health in Ottawa on Richmond Road. He is absolutely amazing. Yes it is out of pocket cost but after the initial visit you can go on a monthly program that is $35 a month and he responds to all email concerns and gets you proper follow up bloodwork. He will prescribe test (if needed) and an AI, or if you choose to self admin he will follow you to monitor side effects and provide bloodwork. If you live close to Ottawa definitely check him out. I think it is about a 6 month wait to get to see him now.

Dr Komer out of Burlington is amazing.

Treats symptoms. Not numbers.

On self-admin TRT through Komer. Very happy with the medical care I've received so far. I'm still not dialed-in. But know I'm getting appropriate care. Regards.

I went to one of the places on the list and it was a bit of a cash grab. They also did nothing to address the sides, i.e no Adex or Tamoxifen etc. Seemed to have very little knowledge of this stuff. They also push the damn gel, which made me feel great for about three weeks then caused a huge crash once my nuts stopped putting out. I eventually got prescribed injectable Test-E at 100 ml every 2 weeks, F*ck. You also need to find a doctor to prescribe it, as the place I tried would not do refills, only get you started. My initial doctor was actually kewl about prescribing the low dose, but I had to convince him that I did not want his 90 yo nurse jabbing my ass. When I changed doctors he would not prescribe it, so I went solo.

It would be good to find place to do the blood-work and prescribe, but then you're stuck with whatever low normal dose they decide to give you.

If anyone finds a decent place in TO please PM me.

Thanks

:( Looks like Peaks Men Health in Ottawa is closing up shop. I was pretty happy with them and was seeing some great results with TRT (Not tired anymore and finally starting to drop some extra weight) . Can anyone recommend another place in Ottawa that will do TRT?

From this list:

Ottawa Men's Clinic on James street in Ottawa is closed. It was run by Dr. Hamdy who was my Dr, but he retired last year.
