Anyone actually use these things ?
in the past yes - loaded up with Mutant Mass

now a days - I have been enjoying RedCon1 MRE - “meal replacement” 500 calories for 4 scoops (I do 2 scoops) but it has low sugar (I watch my sugar intake for diabetes shit) and it tastes good. It’s beef protein which is easier on my guts than whey

Mix 2% milk with your protein powder. Use probiotics Ed as well and you won’t fart the house clean. It’s great way to increase calories without the crappy maxi waze, or dextrose, maltodextrin shit that your body burns up as fast as sugar.
Also adding in oil to your protein shake is great as well. Coconut oil, mct oil (mct oil burns fast as well, but doesn’t spike your insulin), olive oil. Add 1 tablespoon per 250 ml.

A better shake would be powder and oats, but since I can’t eat oats because of my guts, I use the above.

Yeah I’m looking to up my cal intake, so I’m thinking of trying out a mass gainer the only problem is they have so m in sugar in them.

That’s why I recommended what I recommended. I remember years ago, first training I drank 4 litres of milk every 2 days. I was natural back then and young. See I was never a big eater, but could drink. Well I blew up, 30 lbs in a year. Did get a bit fatter as well.
Thing is if you drink that much milk though, you do get the shits on occasion, but probiotics were not around in the early 90’s

If I really need a meal replacement I’ll do whey, ground oats and either olive oil, avocado oil or Peanut butter

Stay away from the sugar loaded gainers. Does more bad then good. I find they bloat me and real foods work much better. Just my opinion but those mass cal gainers are garbage

There is no replacement for whole food. If you absolutely must use meal replacement supplements use them as little as possible. I used to think otherwise, but found even with low amounts of sugar, these supplements would contribute to fat gain. When I plateaued I eventually got a coach and got put on to much better dieting strategies and never looked back on the days of using these supplements.

I used one for a year to help get calories in. Now that I'm use to eating more whole food I've dropped it.

I work at a Supplement King as a 2nd job. They do sell some. 1st thing I tell customers is that it is always better to get your calories from real food.
But in today's rush it's not always easy. That's where supplements shine. You can easily make a calorie dense shake with any isolate tho, simply add in some oats or cream of wheat, fruit and healthy fats and enjoy.
