Apologies if this should be posted in another section, But my Doctor Recently Retired so I am now among the many without a family physician. I'm just wondering if anyone on here knows where Or how I would Go about Getting My Fertility tested, Is that something you can just stroll into any Basic walk in doctors clinic and request ? Or Can I go to a specialty Clinic of sorts without a DR Referral?

Yes, any walk in clinic and tell them what’s going on, they will give your a sterile plastic cup, tell you to masterbste in it at home or wherever you want and then rush it to the lab at the hospital or a private lab.
If your low - you will probably get referred to a urologist as a start.

Go to a walk in clinic or your family doctor. They can wright up a requisition. Usually you have to go to special labs that do this.

Asshole answer: “blow your load in a couple of chicks and see if they get pregnant!”
😉

but seriously- you should be able to go to any walk in clinic and request the test for valid reasons. (Explain your family doc has retired, no conception etc)
Then they should write you a requisition.
And as previously explained - deliver your sample to the lab PDQ (keeping it close to your body to keep it warm) and then within a few days you’ll have results!

good luck!

Go to a walk in clinic and ask if you can have your sperm tested.

They will ask you how long you have been trying, tell them just over a year.

I did this recently and he gave me a requisition for blood work and a sperm sample.

I did the same thing a couple years ago, the doctor told me to have an accurate test - not to have sex or masturbate for 3 days before giving your sample. Not sure if there's any truth to it just echoing what she told me.

My fiancee and I both went to see our doctors together so we could both get tested. Was a pretty easy process once we said we were trying for over a year (we weren't trying long at all we just wanted to see if we could have kids). Both docs wrote up the requisition quickly without issue. They also included testing for STD's which is apparently a must when any fertility testing is done.

I was told the exact same thing @Double D . When I submitted my sample they even asked how long it had been since I had sex or masturbated and they wrote it onto my form/bottle... definately plays a part for your overall numbers. They had also mentioned that 3 days minimum and 7 days maximum is what they prefer. Anywhere inbetween that.

I agree with @fmrdh also in saying that youve been trying for atleast a year OP when going to a walkin or family doc. They are definately more eager to help out and get the test done. In my case anyway.

There is also a kit you can buy that tells you if you are above 20 million/ml that you do at home. 20 million/ml is what they say you should be at (or higher) to increase chances of pregnancy. This test tells you if you are atleast above the low average level. I had tried it originally, I was below the 20 million/ml... Thats when I went into see a doc.. got the test done through them with bloodwork also and got an exact number. Its best to just go straight to a doctor instead of wasting money on the kit... looking back I should have just done that originally but figured Id mention it anyway.
