Hey guys

Kabuki's transformer bar (easy google). I've been wanting a safety squat bar for a while, but I can't get ANYTHING local. This purchase would fall squarely into "buy once cry once" territory and have additional applications beyond the safety squat bar setting (i.e. different cambers, etc).

All in with duty, taxes, shipping, and exchange it's about $1200CAD (and that's with a discount on the bar). Worth it?

@Rucker Tough call it is a fucking great bar my buddy has one but for 1200$ I'm not sure, I was going to order the Rogue Trap bar it was like 600 and then Rogue wanted 500 to ship it they are really bending us over on this stuff.

I'm with you on the "buy it right the first time" philosophy.

If it's going to hold up to heavy use, and one day your grandkids will be lifting with it, then go for it.

I'm a little concerned about the durability of the joint, but that's between you and them, I guess.

Yeah. If I JUST look at USD conversion and round up a little, it's close to $900CAD JUST for the bar, and being awkward to ship, I can make a case for it.

There's no FUCK no's so far, so I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger.

I looked at the Rogue SB-1 because you can buy on their Canadian website. $800-850 shipped.

Yep fair. From what I know about Duffin, he's a smart Engineer who likes to do things right. I've actually met him, walked around his gym, and seen where he manufacturers his equipment. It's all in house, nothing is farmed out. I wish he was just a few hours further north!

I would!
Listen, if you REALLY want and need, the financial investment is nothing compared to the wanted results...:)

See, that's good information. That helps a lot.

And I'm probably being over-cautious. The sheer load on those pins from even four plates a side isn't going to be a worry if the materials that they're made of are robust.

Yeah agreed. He rates that thing at 1500lbs, and knowing him, it'll hold it.

When I visited, he was showing me how he was putting huge windows in from the gym into his manufacturing facility, so that the people training could wander over and see equipment being made.

Anyway, I pulled the trigger. YOLO. I'm not sure if I'll get it this training cycle, they take a while to build and ship. Fingers crossed.

Awesome. Enjoy!

Lead times on everything take longer these days.

lol, Duffin's lead time for that barbell are shorter than the lead times I'm dealing with for suppliers at work rights now.

Go for it!
$1200 is peanuts when amortized out over the length of time this will last and the amount that you will use it!

Have you received your bar yet? If so how do you like it?
I wanted to order a kabuki bar but was told it wouldn't be ready until the end of the year roughly so I bought the west side power bar while I waited.

I put myself down for a flawed bar and I actually got mine a few weeks after ordering AND I got another discount. Fucking love it worth every penny.
