Best to date 545x3 beltless with straps. 605 belt and hook grip @250

Been stuck around here for 2-3 years with inconsistent training due to life events. I’d say I’m back up to about 585 on a good day right now. Would really like to hit a Big pr this winter

And wow some big lifts from some of the boys here! Anything nearing 700 and over is some serious weight

Allright I'll throw my weak-ass out there...

5'10" 217 my best single was 440lb which I rounded to 200kg as I wanted to hit that 200kg that psychological barrier.
Now depending on how I feel in the gym I'll do anywhere from 335x8 all the way up to 405x5 for work sets. usually hover between 385 and 405 for a couple of 5 rep sets.

and @Testbear +1 on the hook grip man. When I first started deadlifting I hit a fork in the road: straps or hook grip. Went down the hook grip path and I'm glad I did.

Back pain is no good bro
I no it sounds strange with your back hurting and all... but maybe you could try training the deadlift every wk
On a heavy/light protocol
The extra volume mite be what you need to strengthen your back so it wont hurt anymore

And going for max singles mite not be a good idea as your form is more likely to break down... just for now till you stop the pain
You could try 2 working sets of 3-5reps for your heavy day
I like to work up to a set of 5reps then add 10-20lbs and go for at least 3reps on the second set
For your light day you could try 4setsx4reps or 5setsx3reps with something lighter then you used on your heavy day like 70-80% as an idea

Weight for light day is not the focus of the training session
Volume and proper form and reps is the focus
Also if you have access to an Axl bar you should for sure use it
It's fukin amazing for the grip and forearms.... they will blow up like fukin balloons like never before bro.... I love it

Plus it limits the weight you can deadlift so it's great for focusing on the movement and the muscles being worked..... awesome
And as a break to the CNS.... of course the grip is heavily taxed witch taxes the CNS.... but still it's a lighter load
Holy fuck I wrote a shit ton of crap here.....
Anyway Happy pulling for the holidays bro :)

I did Axl Deadlifts on Friday international deadlift day
130x3
180x3
220x2
270x1
320x1
367x3
382x3
397x3
412x3
337x12

So I did 4 heavy sets of 3 reps increasing the weight each set by 15lbs
Then I did a back off set 337x12 it pumped up my back traps glutes and hamstrings like crazy... not to mention my forearms... fukin jacked
Then I did a bunch of Axl rows…. fukin heavy !..... and called it a day

Did 440x1 and 405x3 at 220lbs 5'11" earlier this year, currently leaner and stronger

Unfortunately I've been struggling with both feet and lower back issues, so I cannot push further yet.
My goal is to rep 495x5 and be done with it, I know I can, just need time to heal. :cautious:

Until I am 100%, I comfortably rep 315 without pain.
Want to make your goal, start doing reverse hypers. Thank me later ;)

6’ 235 I hit 3 reps of 570 (6 45s a side), belt and alternate grip. Cycle was 2cc of test suspension a day split into two 1cc shots. Havnt deadlifted in close to a year. I do reverse hypers religiously now so I’m certain I could hit higher than that with a 6 week dog crap style regimen.
Moral of the story do your fucking reverse hypers fellas, say goodbye to back pain and hello to new PRs, shout out to @Testbear for introducing those into my life!

Reverse hypers changed my deadlift for the better. Help with form and power. My form used to break down later in heavy sets. Anyone deadlifting should incorporate them into your workout.
